Welcome to the StraightRazorPlace Wiki!

Documentation
SRP LE TI.jpg
The Wiki is in the process of being built from scratch. Your input is greatly appreciated.

For the time being we are aggregating and sorting the existing knowledge on the SRP forums and building it into the Wiki. Therefore, the Wiki is a bit of a moving target. Do stop by often, and do feel encouraged to add and amend!

If you are an existing member of SRP, please log in first and then you will be able to make changes and/or contributions to the wiki. Due to a bug in the software that we use to synchronise login credentials between the forum and the wiki, you need to contact dwessell if your user name contains spaces (" "), dashes ("-") or underscores ("_").

If you do not know where to start, but are ready to start shaving with a straight razor, you will find the following posts useful: Anticipation, What Every Beginner Should Know, The Shave Ready Razor.

Also, feel free to drop by the #srp IRC channel on freenode. It can easily be reached via SRP's Chat.

Announcing the SRP Wiki Contest

Wiki Contest

We do hereby announce the official beginning of the first SRP wiki contest. The contest will run until Jan 7th, and be announced during the chat on Jan 11th. The basics are pretty simple, write an article in the wiki (write an award winning article!), win a prize.

Prizes and Awards

  1. Team Prize (Two razors, see photos).
  2. Best How To (Razor to be announced later, perhaps a custom handle by Lynn).
  3. Best Photograph (Bucket of Soaps from www.straightrazordesigns.com).

How it works

  • Start and finish any article by the end of the contest. Email the link to [email protected]. Articles must be started by the contestant, or be in stub format before. The wiki is temporarily setup to allow only the author of the article to edit it (Except for a small group of super users).
  • The team prize is designed to promote writers to team with photographers, restoration experts to team with the computer geeks, etc. Any combination of teams and any number of team members is acceptable. You'll have to figure out how to divy up the razors.
  • Any questions on how to use the wiki can be asked in this thread, and we'll do the best we can to answer them. Please note that on the main page of the wiki are several great articles for how to edit the wiki.
  • We have a panel of nine judges, made up of moderators, long time members, and newbies.
